A directory of WordPress sites

If you’re looking for a directory to list your WordPress site, you can find a specific WordPress Directory that can match your needs. Directories are a great place to try and get some more traffic to your site and free directory submission is a great way to do some easy SEO for your site.

There are also some plugins and themes that you can use to set up your own directory. I might do a few reviews of these in the future, but so far I haven’t really had the time to evaluate any of them. If you have any experience, feel free to drop a comment and let us know what you’ve used and what you thought of it.

Ask your WP Questions

I came across an interesting website recently called WP Questions. It’s a questions and answer site about WordPress that lets people ask questions about problems they have and lets experts answer the questions. The site has a money-based model around it, where the people asking questions can post a bounty that gets given to the person who solved their problem.

It’s a great way to get some feedback about a problem you may be having with WordPress and a great way for experts to get their name out there. So, whether you have a plugin that’s giving you issue, or some information on those noxycut reviews that aren’t posting correctly; or even a theme issue that is puzzling you. If so, head down to WP Questions and see how it can solve your problems.

I might give it a whirl one of these days .. if I can ever find the time!

WPTavern – Have a read

If you’re looking for a good place to learn about WordPress, there’s a great website called WpTavern that brings together a wealth of information about plugins, themes and other related products. There’s information about BuddyPress, BBPress and WPMU; three products that together make one awesome social network. There’s more about that in the future, but that’s a project I can’t speak about at the moment.

It doesn’t matter if you have a blog about jokes, or one about LCD HDTV; it’s always best to learn as much about the platform you’re using; just so that you can use it to the best of its ability.

New site: SherrilynneStarkie.com

I’ve just put a new WordPress site live called: SherilynneStarkie.com which, as you probably guessed, is my friend Sherrilynne‘s new website. She decided to go down the personal brand route and this site pulls together information about her, her new blogging platform and a platform for her lifestream. They’re all things that are easy to do with WordPress regardless on if you have a personal website, or a site about the Outer Banks.

The site uses a free version of a theme called Arthemia which works really nicely and comes very much recommended. Next time I might even use the premium version.
